The DUOTHERM Warm Roof is a high-performance insulated roofing system that pairs the SOPREMA DUO two-layer cap sheet and base sheet with a rigid PIR or SOPRAROCK mineral wool insulation board and a project-specific vapour barrier. This warm-roof configuration creates a continuous thermal layer above the structure, maintaining stable interior temperatures and eliminating condensation inside the roof cavity.
The DUO membrane provides a robust waterproofing solution for New Zealand conditions. Its dual-bitumen construction features SBS bitumen on the underside for flexibility and ease of application, and APP bitumen on the upper surface for long-term durability. Natural slate chips are pressed into the cap sheet during manufacture, delivering excellent UV protection and low chip loss throughout the service life of the membrane.
Each DUOTHERM Warm Roof specification includes a Condensation Risk Analysis (CRA) and Wind Uplift Report in accordance with NZS1170.2 to ensure performance across all regions and wind zones. The system complies with the New Zealand Building Code, is CodeMark Certified, and holds a current BRANZ Appraisal. When installed by certified applicators, DUOTHERM is supported by Equus warranties of up to 25 years, plus an additional SOPREMA 20-year insurance-backed membrane warranty.
