The membrane is manufactured from reinforced, SBS-modified bitumen with an upper surface coated in specialised bonding crystals. When concrete is poured against the membrane, these crystals activate to form an integral chemical and mechanical bond with the structure, preventing both water infiltration and lateral migration between the membrane and the concrete.
Compatible with a wide range of installation methods — including pre-applied loose-laid under-slab systems, blind-side vertical walls, and post-applied torch-on or self-adhesive applications — COLPHENE BSW provides versatility for projects of all scales. The system also includes swellable water stops and a drainage and protection layer placed between the membrane and the earth, enhancing durability and safeguarding the waterproofing during backfilling.
