DUO is a high-performance two-layer modified bitumen roofing system designed for architectural flat roofs, podium decks, balconies, and terraces. The system combines a DUO cap sheet with a compatible base sheet to create a 6.5mm thick waterproofing build-up. Each layer is selected to suit project requirements, including substrate type, installation method, and environmental conditions.
The DUO cap sheet uses a dual-bitumen technology. The underside incorporates SBS bitumen for flexibility and improved adhesion, while the topside uses APP bitumen for enhanced durability and long-term weather resistance. Pressed natural slate chips are embedded during manufacture, ensuring strong UV protection and low chip loss over the life of the membrane.
The system is suitable for new construction and re-roofing projects on plywood and concrete substrates. Installation options include fully-torched, mechanically fastened, and root-resistant configurations.
DUO complies with the New Zealand Building Code, is CodeMark Certified and has BRANZ Appraisal. Equus Industries provides warranties of up to 25 years, with an additional 20 year insurance-backed warranty supplied by SOPREMA for DUO systems installed in New Zealand.
